85M Gearbox For more than 30 years, Newage off-highway vehicle gearboxes have been synonymous with reliability, durability and performance. The constant mesh gearboxes are designed for heavy duty operation under the most arduous conditions - including prolonged operation in intermediate and reverse gears - to ensure many years of trouble-free service.

Versatility

Available in a wide variety of overall reduction ratios, Newage two wheel and four wheel drive gearboxes perfectly complement the capabilities of the company's axle range - to ensure precise matching of driveline components to each application.

Mechanical Efficiency

Geartrain design enables units to be run continuously at maximum torque in low gears.

Rugged Construction

Heavy-duty cast iron gearcase provides rigidity and strength.

Output Couplings

Flanges are available to suit a variety of Hardy Spicer BRD series and DIN standard couplings.

R    denotes ancillary geared reduction unit fitted.
T    denotes close coupled transfer gearbox (4WD applications).
+   denotes output rotation in forward gears as input.
-     denotes output rotation in forward gears opposite to input.

Technical Information

Transfer Gearboxes

Newage gearboxes are available with a close coupled transfer gearbox.
Installation drawings are available on request.

Newage free standing transfer gearboxes can also be used for four wheel drive vehicles (see Free-Standing Transfer Gearboxes Page for more information)

Engine Rotation

Newage traction gearboxes are designed for use with clockwise rotating engines - when looking towards the front, or input, end of the gearbox.
